Are We Happy Yet?

Pets Make Little Difference in Happiness

Pet owners are about equally likely to be very happy as those without pets of any kind. Looking just at pet owners who have a dog or cat tells the same story; both groups are about equally likely to say they are very happy.

Some of us are happier than others, and this variance helps to paint a portrait of the kind of people Americans are. It also casts doubt on some of the famous wisdom on the subject.
