The number of loans consists of homeowners who say they have any of the following monthly expenses: mortgage, second mortgage, car loan or school loan. Saving habits is an index of three items on saving and spending practices. Self-described savers are those who “always look for ways to save money” and are “always aware of how much money they’re spending” and watch the amount of money they spend “very closely.” Mixed habits consists of all others.
